and if you feel the need to make love to me in the night

old-school dance music reigned supreme in the early 90s. almost every song had a bit of meaningful rap - not about killing people or driving million-dollar cars - mixed with smooth female vocals and an insanely addictive beat. most of the top tracks from ten years ago are still fantastic to listen to, and every day more and more become classics. this style of music even started to break into the mainstream, and at its peak there were radio station countdowns dedicated to it. major sporting events also played 2 unlim!ted songs to pump up crowds - and they still do today!

if you are unfamiliar with 2 unlim!ted, it is best that you stop reading and proceed as follows:
1. shut down your computer
2. trade your computer for a gun
3. buy some bullets
4. shoot yourself

after the decline of old-school dance, i had to look elsewhere for good music. i eventually found the trance that we all know and love - with a bit of help from oakey, tiƫsto and others of course!

let's hope the good music is here to stay!

2 Comments:

  • Dance Mix '95 is THE best CD of all time! This was the first CD i ever bought and I still listen to it regularly, how many of you can say that?!

Keep on pumping the electronica, it's great stuff...I owe my trance fanaticism to my buddy arya :D

  • I have that one too! As well as the '94 version. Damn, now I'm going to have to dig through all my crap and try and find some old dance tunes to take me back to the mid-90s.
